2017: Quarter Four Newsletter
The fall is officially here Herd Family!
A lot has changed since our last newsletter. We have added our newest member to the Herd. Our rainbow baby Carter Fitzgerald blessed our family on September 4th, 2017. A rainbow baby is a baby born shortly after the loss of a previous baby due to miscarriage, stillbirth, or death in infancy. This term is given to these special babies because a rainbow typically follows a storm.
On July 21st, we were lucky enough to be chosen as the Charity of the Month at Burger 21 in Latham, NY where 10% of the day’s sales would be donated to Jack’s Herd, Inc. In true Herd fashion, you all showed up in droves to show your support for this fundraiser and we had a blast. The food was great and the company was even better. Your dedication and eating was turned into a donation from Burger 21 in the amount of $636.00. That’s over $6,300 worth of burgers, fries and shakes! Once again thank you for your support on that day.
October brings us National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness day on October 15th. Just as we did last year, we are encouraging our Herd to spread some good vibes in your local communities through some Random Acts of Kindness. We once again have some RAK cards that you can print to include with your acts of kindness (see attachment below). Feel free to send in some photos of your RAK experiences so we can include on social media and Jacksherd.com. Last year the random acts of kindness reached multiple cities and states-help us make this year’s even more successful!
This year we will be teaming up with Yankee Candle to raise money for Jack’s Herd. The holidays are right around the corner and we know people love candles and especially Yankee Candles. All purchases made through our dedicated fundraising website will be eligible for a 40% donation to Jack’s Herd. Purchases made by October 20th, 2017 will be received prior to Thanksgiving and those purchases made by November 17th will be received prior to Christmas. Follow and share this link for purchases:
We are partnering up with The Patricia J. Brandow Foundation to help support their annual lecture on women’s health. They have been huge supporters of Jack’s Herd and so we’d like to return the support. For anyone that is interested, this event is a free event and will be held on November 2nd, 2017 at the Hilton Garden Inn Albany Medical Center at 6:30pm. This is a very informative event that is entering its 14th year focusing on women’s health issues. (See the attached flyer below for more details)
Finally, we are starting to rev up on our planning for our 2nd Annual Cocktail Party and Silent Auction. We plan to host this event again this coming March. Stay tuned for more information!
Enjoy the foliage and preparing for the holiday season!
Sincerely yours,
Tricia Doyle, president of Jack’s Herd, Inc.

2017: Quarter Three Newsletter
Happy summer to our herd!
We hope everyone is enjoying the nice weather and is able to get in some fun! We’ve decided to switch to a quarterly newsletter format to keep everyone in the loop! As always, feel free to forward this along to anyone you feel would be interested in Jack’s Herd, Inc.
After the wild success of the First Annual Cocktail Party and Silent Auction we hosted back in March, nearly doubling our fundraising goal and raising over $8,000, we have been able to make substantial donations to the Albany Medical Center’s Labor and Delivery Unit’s Bereavement Committee. Last month we were able to donate gorgeous memory boxes, as well as the materials needed to create the beautiful hand and foot cast molds. We have received wonderful feedback, as well as notes from families that decided to reach out and thank Jack’s Herd. Your continued support of our efforts makes this possible.
This month, we had the opportunity to become one of Burger 21’s charities that will receive 10% of a day’s proceeds. Jack’s Herd’s day is Friday, July 21. Stop in to the Burger 21 in Latham, NY any time that day and 10% of your bill will be donated back to the Herd!
Also, as a reminder if you make a donation, or your employer donates on your behalf, keep Jack’s Herd in mind for any matching opportunities! We have received several donations/match donations this month! AND for any of the Herd that uses Amazon if you go through www.smile.amazon.com and select Jack’s Herd, Inc., a percentage of your order will be donated to Jack’s Herd!
We are working to plan a fall fundraiser and will keep you posted! We truly appreciate all of your support!

JANUARY 2017
Happy New Year!
We at Jack’s Herd hope that everyone’s year is already off to a great start and that you were able to enjoy the holidays! This New Year will bring lots of exciting things for Jack’s Herd, Inc. and we are so excited to share them with you.
Members of the Jack’s Herd fundraising committee have been hard at work for the last few weeks preparing for our inaugural Cocktail Party & Silent Auction on March 11th. We are in overdrive now, acquiring lots of great items for you to come out and bid on while having a great time!
Don’t forget: Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased directly through the Jack’s Herd website (www.jacksherd.com/tickets.html). The price per ticket is $75 and includes unlimited beer, wine, and soda. If you are from out the area and still want to come, we have rooms blocked off at the Hampton Inn & Suites Albany for $119/night (includes breakfast and parking); just mention Jack’s Herd to receive the special rate! Spread the word to your family and friends- the more the merrier!
Also for the months of January & February, any donation of $25 or more made (www.jacksherd.com/donate.html) your name will be entered in a drawing to win a complimentary ticket! Our December winner was Patty Davanzo. Congratulations!
Some of the other events on the horizon include a Paint & Sip and an early fall golf outing! Your support and our success at these fundraisers go directly to providing families with priceless memories and keepsakes of their lost little ones.
January 25th marks Jack Holden’s 2nd birthday. Help us honor him by passing on an Act of Kindness or making a donation in his name.
As always, we thank you for joining our herd,
Tricia Doyle, president of Jack’s Herd, Inc.

NOVEMBER 2016
November has arrived!
That means it's full steam ahead for the holiday season. I, for one, will continue to honor my family’s tradition of abstaining from any full-on holiday festivities until my fork is down from the Turkey Dinner but no judgement here if you choose otherwise!
October brought us to National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness day on the 15th of the month. It warmed our hearts to see all of the love out there that was spread and shared by those touched by pregnancy and infant loss. Many members of Jack’s Herd sent some love and good vibes out into the world that day, spreading Random Acts of Kindness all over the country. The photos and reactions from the recipients was amazing to see and hear about and we thank you all for participating! Check out the Jack’s Herd website homepage for photos.
This month, on November 29th, is Giving Tuesday! Many companies choose to make large donations as a way to kick of the holiday season. This year, Bravelets has pledged to donate 20% of each item purchased back to the charity they are purchased for! Consider buying a few things, a bracelet, scarf or mug, etc., to give as gifts this year as a symbol of your support of Jack’s Herd!
We have a lot of planning going on for events that the New Year will bring!
SAVE THE DATE: Saturday, March 11, 2017- Jack’s Herd, Inc. will be hosting a Silent Auction Cocktail Party at the Normanside Country Club in Delmar, NY. There will be tons of great items and baskets to bid on and all of the proceeds will go towards providing memory boxes and materials for keepsakes to hospitals for families that have just lost as newborn or infant child. Tickets will cost $75 and include beer, wine, and soda! Join us for a great night for a great cause!
Remember that the holidays can be a very tough time for people, especially when they have lost a baby or child. Jack’s Herd seeks to provide a little extra love and comfort during these times. We thank you for joining us!
Always thankful for your support,
Tricia Doyle, president of Jack’s Herd, Inc.

OCTOBER 2016
Happy October to our Herd!
Thank you so much for joining the Jack’s Herd newsletter mailing list! This will be the best way for you to stay up to date on the goings on within the herd.
In just one short month, since formally announcing our organization the beginning of September, Jack’s Herd, Inc. has raised nearly $800! With the purchase of jewelry through Bravelets, where 10% of the item is donated to our organization, to monetary donations, both large and small, through our donate page on Jacksherd.com we have already had the privilege of making an impact to grieving families. Also a special thanks to Ms. Sandra Silva for hosting a Premiere Designs Jewelry show via Facebook with all of the proceeds going to Jack’s Herd.
On September 26th, 2016 Jack’s Herd delivered its first donation to the Labor and Delivery Unit’s Bereavement committee chair at Albany Medical Center. It contained printing inks, rollers, and high quality paper for hand and footprint keepsakes, beautiful mother and baby elephant watercolor prints, and informational support resources, all of which can have an invaluable impact on families that have just lost their newborn or infant child. Without your support and generosity, this would not have been possible and hopefully this donation was just the first of many!
Saturday, October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day. As a way to honor and remember Jack Holden Doyle, and the rest of the babies lost within Jack’s Herd, consider performing a few Random Acts of Kindness using the printable cards found here or as a JPEG. attached to this email. Pass it along to someone along with, maybe, a cup of coffee, a hand getting their groceries to the car or any other kindness you can think of. This world could use a good dose of kindness, why not spread some while honoring the babies we will never forget?
Mark your calendars for Double Donation Day this year on Giving Tuesday, November 29, 2016. On this day, Bravelets will be donating 20%, instead 10% for every purchase made within those 24 hours!
Stay tuned for details on upcoming fundraising events for Jack’s Herd in the coming weeks…..
Once again, we thank you for joining the herd and for helping us to stand around grieving families in their darkest time.
Sincerely,
Tricia Doyle, president of Jack’s Herd, Inc.
